I create most of my pieces using a 3D software called Houdini.
Within it, I’ve developed a custom setup that lets me place and control the letters with precision.

I’m always looking for ways to improve the ASCII solver.

For example, the solver now adjusts characters based on the direction of contrast lines.

Notice how the letters inside the skull differ from those in the outlines. This is done automatically by analyzing the surrounding pixels and finding the best match.

This setup can also be used to place letters over 3D geometry and simulations.
